Statue Of Liberty Opens Again

The Statue of Liberty in New York is open again. A lot of it has been closed since the terror attacks on New York on September the 11th, 2001. New York security experts decided no one could go up to the crown of the statue for security reasons. However, in the past eight years, Liberty has been made safer for tourists. There are two airport-style X-ray machines and only 30 visitors at a time can go inside. The 4th of July was a good time to reopen it. People had fun climbing the 364 stairs that take sightseers to the top.

I want to go to the Statue of Liberty. It is one of the most famous places in the world. I think everyone should go there once in their life. It is a symbol of freedom in the world. I hope there isn’t another terrorist attack. The last one on 9/11 was too terrible for words. I don’t understand terrorists. They are dangerous people. How could they kill so many innocent people? I’m sure the Statue of Liberty will still be there after the terrorists have gone. Her flame will always shine to give people hope.
