Libyans on Saturday for the first time four decades. Millions of voters went to vote in the election - the first Muammar Gaddafi rose power 43 years ago. He was by rebel forces last year. This allowed the current elections to take . Most voters were very happy they could their future leader. One Tripoli resident said: "Look at the lines. Everyone came of his and her own will. I knew… Gaddafi would not be there forever. We want to start from zero."

2.9 million Libyans registered for the election. There were 3,000 candidates to choose from. One voter said: "We are today and we want the whole world to celebrate us." However, not all Libyans were with their chance to vote. In the east the country there was violence. There were protests in and Benghazi. The east is worried it will power to the Tripoli in the west. Benghazi was where last year’s rebellion Gaddafi started.
